To acknowledge the efforts of BNAPS members and the success they have achieved in exhibiting BNA material, we present information about BNAPS exhibit winners at National exhibitions in Canada and the United States and FIP-sponsored International exhibitions.
Awards are for BNA exhibits and BNA literature. If you think we've missed any, let us know.

Not included in the table are Court of Honour exhibits, APS StampShow World Series of Philately Prix d'Honneur exhibits, and non-competitive exhibits.
There were 142 competitive exhibits this year, less than last year’s all-time high of 157 but still among the highest since Norris (Bob) Dyer began this compilation in 2001. The most significant decline was the number of BNAPEX exhibits, which dropped from 46 to 35.
2019 saw a new Canadian National level show, VANPEX in Burnaby, BC, 27-29 September. For the first time since 2016, there were entries in the Literature category – three at the National level. BNAPS member participation at the International level continues to be encouraging, thanks to the enthusiasm of David McLaughlin, the RPSC International Liaison Officer (ILO), and the Canadian commissioners.
Thanks are due to the exhibitors, 75 of them this year, who devote so much time and energy in making their collections accessible to show goers to admire and study. Most exhibits enjoy a limited lifespan. They burst upon the philatelic stage, evolve as exhibitors respond to judging critiques and incorporate new acquisitions, and fade away as they reach their summit and are then dispersed. Add to this the nature of shows, occupying a moment in time and a speck on the globe. Fortunately, exhibit research, write-up, and presentation can be shared with a widely dispersed audience over an indeterminate period though book publication and website displays.
The number of Golds speaks to the overall quality of the exhibits; however, all exhibits have something to offer, irrespective of medal standing. Note that the number of Large Gold, Large Vermeil, and Large Silver medals is misleading because several shows, BNAPEX among them, do not distinguish between these medals and Gold, Vermeil, and Silver ones.
BNAPS sponsors several special BNA exhibit awards at National and Regional shows in Canada and the U.S. The awards include: Best BNA exhibit, Best BNA One Frame, Best Researched BNA, Best BNA 2 to 4 Frame, and the John D. Arn White Queen Award for best BNA Elizabethan exhibit. For more information on these awards, contact David Freeman, BNAPS Awards Coordinator, at dfreeman@latitude.ca. The RPSC, PHSC, PSSC, and other specialist societies also sponsor special awards. And shows have their own special awards to recognize best-in-class exhibits.
This compilation does not include non-BNA exhibits by BNAPS members or BNA exhibits by non-members, of which there were several. Some exhibits may figure more than once in the awards tabulation because they were displayed at more than one show.
