BNAPS Privacy Policy

The British North America Philatelic Society (BNAPS) is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals who use its services. By providing your personal information to BNAPS, you agree to the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy. This policy does not apply to the information gathered by the study groups and regional groups that are affiliated with BNAPS.

BNAPS collects only personal information related to the conduct of its business and uses this information for purposes such as billing, membership voting, subscription fulfilment and communication. Selected information is published in its journal to notify existing members of pending membership applications.

On its website, BNAPS uses cookies to collect tracking information about the pages visited during a browsing session. Users may disable cookies on their browsers; however, certain member features are accessible only through the use of session cookies. BNAPS uses information collected on its website through the use of cookies to analyze website usage and web page flow. All personally identifying information is aggregated and anonymized during the analysis.

BNAPS may provide the personal information of members to its Officers, Directors, Officials and other members in the commission of their duties.

BNAPS may provide the personal information of its members to third parties contracted by BNAPS to support the delivery of its services. In such cases, BNAPS provides third parties only with the information necessary to carry out the contracted service. BNAPS does not allow third parties to use the personal information for other than the contracted purposes. BNAPS does not provide personal information to third parties other than for the purposes stated above.

BNAPS may occasionally contact its members on behalf of third parties. In such cases, addressing and mailing will be carried out only by BNAPS personnel. BNAPS does not provide members’ personal information to the third parties.

BNAPS may need to disclose personal information to comply with the law or legal process and to exercise BNAPS’s legal rights or defend against legal claims.

BNAPS provides members with the opportunity to review and correct their personal information and to opt in or out of selected BNAPS communications. This can be done at the BNAPS website or by written request to the BNAPS Secretary.

BNAPS uses industry standard security measures to prevent unauthorized collection, access, use, disclosure, or disposal of the personal information.

BNAPS will retain personal information only to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or as required by applicable laws or regulations.
