As the population of Upper Canada grew in the 1790s following the influx of the United Empire Loyalists, the fertile land mass along the north shore of Lake Erie became a prime area of new settlement. The postal history of the Western District is shown in this very well researched and beautifully illustrated book.

The Western District of Upper Canada: the Development of Postal Communications and Postal Markings, 1800-1850 is the 113th volume in the BNAPS Exhibit Series. It won the Horace W. Harrison Grand Award at BNAPEX 2021 Virtual exhibition.
