Notes:

  1. These proofs come from lot 2236 of the Christie's sale. The proofs are imperforate. The stamps are not overprinted "SPECIMEN" and are not punched.
  2. The date is handwritten in blue crayon.
  3. The proof is orange brown (colour trial), not carmine. It is described, incorrectly, as "oxidised" in the Christie's description of lot 2236.
  4. All the preproduction proofs (those with stamps overprinted "SPECIMEN") have a printing order number in the top margin.
