King George VI Postal Stationery 1938 to 1953

Earle Covert
Released April 2021. Exhibit series # 111.
176 pages, 11"x17" folded pages, spiral bound.
Colour C$ 54.00 [ISBN 978-1-989280-20-1].

After winning a Gold Medal at BNAPEX 2019 Ottawa for King George Vi Private Order Envelopes, Earle Covert decided to expand the mounted collection to cover all forms of King George VI postal stationery except the air letters, which were published in BNAPS Exhibit Series Book No. 90, The Development of Canadian Armed Forces and Civilian Air Letters 1942 to 1996. In addition to what is traditionally shown in postal stationery exhibits, this book also includes privately printed headings and separations, both between and within regular issue post cards, as well as sheets and strips, and a selection of cards with advertising on the fronts, but especially on the backs. These are not an exhaustive collection of everything available; there are some items missing, which Earle does not own.

Earle Covert has served BNAPS as Secretary, Member of the Board, Chairman of the Board, and President, and is currently Chairman of the Convention Committee and of the Postal Stationery Study Group. He has displayed over 60 different exhibits of Canadian postal stationery, revenues, and modern postal history. He published Strike Courier and Local Post of the Elizabethan Era, wrote over 20 articles for BNA Topics and for Postal Stationery, the journal of the United Postal Stationery Society, and three other volumes in the BNAPS Exhibit Series.
